According to CriptoNoticias, the Spanish government approved Royal Decree 813/2026 on October 8, 2026, tightening anti-money laundering regulations. The Official State Gazette shows that cryptocurrency ATMs no longer retain anonymous space within Spain, and all transactions must mandatorily verify identity. Previously, some smaller-amount physical terminal transactions did not require full identity verification; the new text stipulates that "in all transactions carried out at crypto-asset ATMs, reliable identity verification is mandatory." Operators have an 18-month transition period to deploy advanced electronic identification systems.
